No, an origin story typically includes everything that leads to a character deciding to become a superhero. So Superman’s would include being raised by the Kent’s. All the things that happen to shape a character after they’ve started their super heroing career are just character development.

It does not sound like you were ever going to like this then.

His birth.

Jesus is a tough one because you’ve got his birth, you got him up to about age 12 or so, then he falls off the map for a while and comes back and does Jesus things until he dies. At no point does he turn into Jesus we know.

I’m thinking maybe your definition of “origin story” is a bit broader than mine (and maybe some others).

I still say any point of spider man in high school is origin. Everything up to gwen was origin.

If everything up to Gwen is origin, then by your own definiton, literally every Spider-man movie ever made is origin story. An origin story tells how a hero got his powers and what caused him to decide to be a hero. This takes place early in Peter’s career, but it’s not an origin story.

Oh, well, if *you* say, I guess it doesn’t matter what the word actually means.

“We spend a lot of time as we work on these movies saying ‘Don’t take it for granted that the audience saw the other the other movies or that the audience is as versed in the comic books as we are.’ We take great pains to give you everything you need to know within the context of whatever movie you’re actually

Except he’s already Spider-Man in Civil War, which takes place before Homecoming. Therefore, he has already gone through his origin story.

Well, the producers of the Spider-man movie said it won’t be an origin. But I’m sure we can trust you over them.

Well, it’s been confirmed that it’s not an origin story, so there’s that.

Homecoming ain’t an origin story. Unlike the Waynes, you can only kill Ben Parker so many times before it becomes tiresome.

I have to admit, I was expecting him to do the three Iron Man movies, the four Avengers movies, any contractually obligated cameos, and then bow out. Same with Chris Evans. It’s a pleasant surprise that they’re sticking around for longer than that.

He’s said it on multiple occasions how he really protects and covets the Tony Stark/Ironman character. I think between him and Hugh Jackman they have shown you can still have a normal acting career and at the same time own an individual character like Stark/Logan over multiple years with out getting pigeon holed.

If any individual other than Kevin Feige deserves a ton of credit for bringing the MCU to life, it’s Robert Downey, Jr. His willingness to stick with the character for so long across so many films is incredible. It would have been easy and completely understandable for him to not want to continue with the role as long
