My girlfriend is a really bad loser. If she plays a game for the first time and she loses, chances are I will never be able to play with her again. This is why I’m looking for games where you cooperate (like The Grizzled, which I’ll purchase now).
I profiled this game for TAY a couple of months back, we saw it at SxSW. It was my favorite game of the show!
I realize it's not a direct comparison, but I'm reminded of the years I've spent as an "internet cop" - in several different roles, once as a Stack Exchange mod and a couple of times as leader of organized gaming groups.
I love these back stories. Makes me want to play through the game again.
What I find interesting is that mobile gaming is essentially in the "coin-op" arcade era. The games are demanding, punishing, instant gratification, closed loops that demand you to feed them small amounts of money (or be really, really good/lucky) in order to continue playing.
