So I am hoping, you, the internet/kinja, can answer this question for me: why doesn’t the TSA just send us past dogs trained to sniff out prohibited items? Are they too expensive/not accurate enough/startle easily, etc?

Completely agree. I own an 86 and for 90 percent of uses its just fine. It even works for decent home depot runs (8' stock just fits, though not crazy amounts of it).

No, I know that the 1% moniker refers to individuals. I was bringing up the 1% (individuals) because there is a rather large and lucrative industry that serves to shelter them from taxes and my thought is that Large Companies almost certainly do the same thing (shelter their money from taxes).
