I have pretty severe fibromyalgia. I just realized one day that I always have back and leg pain because I sit in the most twisted postures trying to be small enough. Now I’m working on loving my body for the ways in which it does work.

That’s cool. I get it. Especially when one feels besieged with stupidity. I feel like we've seen a lot more trolls and bored men in the comments recently.

It's hard to retrain your mindset to one where you can just take up your own space. Especially since I used to be 200 lbs heavier. I spend my entire life trying to be as small as possible in public. 

That's the difference between troglodytes and the rest of us: good people are aware of their own failings.

How does one set power dynamics aside? 

My ex used to go on and on about how much I deserve to be hit,  how much he wanted to hit me,  and the only reason he didn't was because he was a gentleman. What a gentleman indeed.
