That's a funny way to spell Eva Green.
That's a funny way to spell Eva Green.
I really liked NPH's take on Olaf. Carrey was too over-the-top theatrical and there was nothing grounded in his villainy. There's a snideness and almost Regina George-esque meanness to NPH's performance that feels familiar to me.
If Jake and Amy's dads ever meet, they could probably win a presidential campaign.
The movie got the gothic aesthetic and bleak, grey-toned visual palette right, but the script and the performances (Carrey's in particular) never really grasped just how depressing the orphans' story actually was. Underneath all the ludicrous characters and costumes, at its heart, it was about these three children and…
"Your latte is not entertainment."
"That's not true, I had a good time."
I'm going to need Xo, Rogelio and Michael to get up to some ridiculous, goofy shenanigans this year.
I really liked how many times they said the word 'abortion'. Nothing frustrates me more than network TV tap dancing around the topic and ending with some mealy-mouthed tripe about 'choice'. In fact, JtV was guilty of this from its first episodes regarding Jane. It felt quietly revolutionary this time around with Xo so…
His increasing sociopathy with every Halloween is one of the best parts of the show.
Amy's sheer delight at being called a 'Mary-Anne' was everything to me.
Those lines about Michael/Petra's fates intertwining were hit on way too hard not to come into play later, right?
Yeah, I read the review and didn't necessarily disagree with the criticisms but by the end, I was just like, "…..whatever, I dug it, man."
I can't believe that's his real name. He sounds like an ageing Norwegian porn star.
Okay, but how did Ali Larter tie up her hair with no hair tie in that scene where she's talking about Lake Como? I rewound it like five times!
I liked this episode but I missed the rest of the gang too much. The strength of the show is in its ensemble.
"i find it questionable to single out this particular movie,"
She did portray herself as a 'soccer mom' for so much of the 90s. Remember the 'tea and cookies' controversy? Everyone thought she was too powerful and outspoken and thought she emasculated Bill, so she had to do dumb shit like literally enter a baking contest with Barbara Bush. I don't blame her for remaking her…
I was so strangely emotional during this convention. Kind of teared up at that video too.
This show is such a mess now, I'm so annoyed. Pretty sure I even wrote a comment on a S1 episode about how refreshing it was that a woman could be dark, destructive and complicated without having 'rape' as a backstory. Ugh.
I always thought the show would go the Michael/Petra route. Petra just needs someone to love her! And Michael is so good at loving!
They need to drop her asap from Season 2.
