I think Sorkin's Oscar nominations for The Social Network and Moneyball are pretty good arguments for the prestige tag.

I haven't been keeping up with critical consensus of this show but how is Orphan Black S2 not universally regarded as having seriously terrible, nonsensical writing? Tatiana Maslany deserved a better show because S2 was a real chore to get through.

I think there's a lot of merit to 'mid-reputable' entertainment with broad, mass appeal that attracts all four quadrants. There's something to be said about making a piece of work that is hugely popular, that connects with a whole load of people viscerally rather than intellectually. In a lot of ways, I think that's a

But seriously…what the hell is Nick Cannon doing on this show? The character is so useless and non-existent and could've been played by just about any two-bit waiter off the street but I can't imagine they're paying him SAG minimum for this part.

The cut to the squad trekking through the sand with thick overcoats and like Arctic sounding wind whipping around them was hilarious.

That doesn't really bother me as much as Parks' hero worship of Leslie. I find P&R never letting Leslie be wrong far more grating than B99 always having Jake be wrong.

Look at us! Just three people with pants on having a normal conversation…

Two things I absolutely loved about this episode: Jake/Holt and Amy/Gina. The Jake/Holt relationship isn't unexplored ground by any means, but as friends, colleagues and equals without Jake learning a Very Important Lesson at the end? That was a lovely development and I was actually genuinely touched by Jake's

I kinda got a funny feeling a few episodes ago, but this honestly wasn't an episode that made me uncomfortable just because it was so removed from the precinct.

This is a show essentially tailor made for me so……WHATEVER I LOVE THIS

The way she quickly snatched the bag up was only made funnier by Holt nudging the bag toward her SO SLOWLY beforehand.

It was a really worthless role and I'm wondering if there was a cut scene in there somewhere because his introduction seemed really short for a recurring character.

I don't think I realized how much dimension and shading they've done for the characters in a season and a half until this episode. The cold open this week with Jake's straight man essentially imploring a wacky Holt to remain collected and mature at an official police event was hilarious but also somehow not completely

THE NO-NO LIST (courtesy of EW):

My problem with this assessment isn't that she's got a 'cranky' exterior. Ron Swanson has a cranky exterior. Misanthropic characters can work but April is straight up cruel for kicks and the writers trying to wallpaper over that really mean streak with whatever empty gesture just means nothing to me because she's back

Hopefully it ends with Leslie (and Ben) getting the hell out of Pawnee because that place is a cesspit.

You're not the only one. I find her really needlessly cruel and various attempts by the writers to soften her up and show that she's a really nice person deep down inside just ring hollow for me.

There Will Be Blood is way more intense - Inherent Vice is more offbeat than anything. I assume people there were familiar with his work? Lots of industry types.

I mean…I still think she was great in that episode of Friends where she finds out Ross cheated on her with the copy-girl.

FWIW, I was at a screening for Inherent Vice and like half the audience walked out. It's not a movie for everyone.
