i think i’m done arguing with random skeptical internet guy who can’t afford anything anyway.. but if you scroll down on their model page, i just found their “technical” section with all the stats. also, if you take a moment to inform yourself, you’ll see that CRP, their parent company, is a main supplier to F1 and

as a TSLA holder, this part is what worries me most. why are key people like this leaving, what do they know about this rosy picture that we don’t?

you can’t compare the chevy bolt or nissan leaf with a model 3. and the difference in price will be swallowed by customers after the first test drive in a model 3 if they weren’t convinced already.

good point.. but keep in mind that to start something this daring as a project, you have to proceed from core areas of interest first.. then expand. Alta motors for example had 70 dealers.. stocked with bikes.. no sales.. and that’s how they went under. Energica is moving to where the demand, and the $$$ is first..

haha.. i just read the unpaid intern bit. damn, you caught me.. yea, i do the same for mclaren and ferrari also. shit, my cover is blown. ha.

no, they are their own brand. They do use trellis construction, but it’s not from any other bike .they are . aground-up company with major backing.. no cutting corners.  they are the new foundation for e-motogp races, it’s no joke.

true. but imagine if you were reading vehicle names like “Toyota wait and advance” ( attenza is a combo of those two words in italian) . or “cadillac glder”... (aliante is a glider.. so ALLante is some fucked up misspelling of that).  There too many for me to list.. i see it all the time... wacky italian-sounding

i believe with the current incentives, you get an $8500 discount between tax and state here in california.. the base bike comes out to $17k or somewhere around there before tax.  and i promise you, if you ride it.. it’s eye-opening. doesn’t feel like a compromise like a zero does.. it feels like a badass bike.

the euros HAVE joined the party.

look up Energica.. their bikes are approaching the $15-20k pricepoint. premium yes, but by no means boutique.

once you ride or even just see an Energica up close and learn about the tech, you realize that like Alta, Mission, and others which have fallen by the wayside, you realize that there is no competition yet in this segment. it’s like early days of electric cars when half-hearted attempts came up against the Tesla model

i put a full open Fabspeed exhaust on my Porsche Spyder.. it was so earsplittingly loud that it became undriveable. I ended up reverting to just sport headers with the stock exhaust which was a sweet-spot. Never go full open exhaust. (first video with the full exhaust, second one back just to sport headers)

“Designo” is misspelling of the word “disegno”, which means design in Italian. The japanese do it with Italianish sounding car names.. always off by one or two letters.. I have never understood it as an italian speaker why brands do this.

$40M: I would make mclaren automotive an offer they can’t refuse for the orange F1LM, for weekend drives.

have you considered getting 1/15th of a Senna?:

hopefully it doesn’t become “nascar-ish” by grafting parts which “look” like the original cars, but are actually similar underneath. what we all want aren’t silhouettes, we want real manufacturers competing against each other.

oh BMW, you’ve turned into such a schmuck.

the solution is simple: BUY USED CARS. that new car smell just isn’t worth it.
