I do. Childbirth hurts worse.

That was her offense, and that is why the punishment fits the crime. In Ruiz's eyes, Piper will always hide from her rich friends and family that she started a hate movement in prison, but Ruiz has ensured Piper will never be able to lie to herself about it.

The point of the show is that Piper's advantages don't mean anything in prison. The crux of the show is that Piper doesn't know that.

But Ruiz can't rat out on Piper, and she knows it. The Dominicans can't go to the guards and get Piper in trouble and they know it. Once perhaps, but not anymore. There is not one person of color among the new guards, and this is important to the story.

Yeah, Ruiz is aware of her total inability to wield administrative power the way Piper has, and is pursuing the only avenue remaining for her in prison. We saw the blades on her father's walls, you think she was unfamiliar with what he did?

He and Piper would be perfect for each other.

They have forced her to hide it for the rest of her life, and that is a good enough revenge for Ruiz.

But it's easy for her to lose sight of that because her boyfriend refuses to bring their daughter to see her in prison. This is rooted in our societal stigma against criminals.

But that also places some fault in her isolation from her daughter. When her silent partner was bringing her daughter, Ruiz would never have considered dirty work, panties or otherwise.

I'm just like WHY CAN'T LOLLY BE FREE???!!!!

She's a bit racist, we've seen her be derogatory about the other communities in Litchfield, it's just that she doesn't value her racism over the community at Litchfield.

No, I don't think Gina is racist, I just think she knew where this would go better than Piper did, because Gina has more experience with the racial divides within prison.

That was the point. She wasn't intentionally racist, but she wasn't conscious to the ways in which she was stoking racism. Maybe not as bad, but in the context of her other actions, still pretty scummy.

I think Gina absolutely knew.

That's where the convention is.

No, he was one of the inexperienced guards hired prior to the walk out.

Walk Out

Sophia was taken to Max, it's not that Nicky was in SHU.

As far as the timeline goes, I imagine it's like comic book time. They've been in prison for less that 18 months, but it is obvious that YEARS have passed since the series started. So the show plays fast and loose with current events, and expects us as the audience to roll with it.
