You’re behind. The “actually Three Billboards is terrible” thinkpieces started weeks ago.

But Gary Oldman’s “art” was mediocre. He’s a talented actor, but Darkest Hour wasn’t that great and his performance was all prosthetics. The other nominees were all better.

I’m not saying Oldman won’t win. I’m just saying that he doesn’t deserve it.

Pleasantly surprised to see Gerwig and Peele in there. Now if they can just give Best Actor to anybody but Gary “Nancy Pelosi is a c*nt” Oldman.

Oldman’s performance was all makeup. He doesn’t deserve an Oscar for it. DDL was much better. So was Chalamet. And Kaluuya for that matter. Haven’t seen Roman Israel, DDS because why would I?

I’d have liked to see Call Me by Your Name pick up a few more nominations, but I’d glad for the ones it has, God’s Own Country could have been put into a few categories too.

To be honest the first episode being an interview with President Drone Strikes kind of puts me off that show, even putting aside Letterman’s failings as a person.

The work environment being toxic was an intended part of the show. It was never meant to make the audience feel comfortable.

You know the story about Stone is an urban legend, right? The shot in question was done on a closed set separately from the rest of the scene; the cast and most of the crew were sent home, so it was just Verhoeven, Stone, and a skeleton crew.
