I guess they must've jettisoned the comments section before I got to take a look.

So it turns out that MSP ComiCon is definitely this weekend! With that in mind I wanted to know what's your favorite local comic convention or general local comic experience?

Heyo!

I don't like Neil Marshall. He's like if George Miller had absolutely nothing that appealed to me. Or if Paul WS Anderson thought he was an auteur.

I don't have any nostalgia for Simonson's Thor. Only read parts of it about 3 years ago. It just works for me. I think I need to read more artist driven comics from the Bronze Age. Not too wordy but still plenty of exposition in story in single issues. It's like combining many of the elements I want out of cape

I hope that gets resolved soon. Dang that sucks.

What do they have you on if you don't mind me asking. They put me on Lisinopril I believe. That's been working.

Hope you have a good time!

Good luck with your date!

Denzel Washington's character from Crimson Tide compliments your grandma's taste in comics.

What little of Simonson's Thor I've read I've absolutely loved like very few ongoing superhero comics I've encountered. And so much of it feels immediately accessible no matter where one starts. But I've also not been around anyone who talks about it. So I've never had to experience hype fatigue. I have to imagine

Heyo!

Oh it's not even that with me. It's more about limitation and not having a head space that is not dedicated to wondering about the veracity or accuracy to anything. Once you pull in actual mythology that's what I'm measuring against. And I just want to have something a bit more "free".

For me it's not even that. I just don't give of myself wholly to almost anything I enjoy. I struggle to get attached on that level.

Hope you have a good time on Sunday

It's fine to separate your life like that. It's essentially what I did and it's made my life life feel more like its own space and revitalized my online life. I hope you can find a solution that best suits you.

Can you provide more details on that meetup?

Also giving that sympathy upvote. Keep us updated if you can. We're in your corner.

It's weird for me to realize this about myself but it turns out there's no one on that level for me for almost any medium. Now I'm kinda sad.

@judkinsmajor I find it interesting that y'all say that because I think I might be the exact opposite. I feel far less initial interest if a superhero or genre fiction character in general is tied to an actual existing mythology.
