Something I never understood is why aren't wedding dress rentals more popular? Like I get the whole sentimental thing to a point, but you only ever wear that expensive gown once. Yet people act like it makes MORE sense to rent tuxedos even though there's doubtlessly more occasions where one would be in a tux than

Whoa! Congratulations!

That is "British comedy classic" levels of convoluted absurdity right there.

I might have missed this entirely, but what's the new job?

I know next to nothing about Elvira other than her continued presence in the cultural zeitgeist. She's always been on the periphery of the stuff I've been into (b-movies, midnight classics, etc) but I've never looked that closely. She's seem to have made quite a sizable impact though.

Yeah, I'm staying with friends in downtown Minneapolis.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Hilda comics. Even from people who are cynical jerks and hate all that is joyous and beautiful in the world. And today's review is pretty much reinforcing the idea that I absolutely must read them once I get the chance.

Got kicked out of my cousin's place. There was a dustup over the fact that he stole 360 dollars from me and refused to pay it back. He and his girlfriend then proceeded to blame me for everything wrong in their lives right now.

Here's hoping you feel better soon!

How bad of a cold?

Do the positives of the office outweigh the positives of working from home?

There are rooms for rent. But my problem is finding a place for two people and one dog. So I've defaulted to private residences for the time being. With my back against the wall I will likely have to go with a room for rent.

Gotta move out of my cousin's house this Wednesday. Still have no place else to live. Finding apartments here is impossible even in the sketchy neighborhoods. Rental criteria is absurd. And there's few loopholes of any kind.

The film has so much going for it and it's no surprise it's a stone cold classic. The fact that it works so well despite resting on its gimmick is a testament to how well-executed it actually is. I just wish tone, characterization and narrative was on that same level. The pieces are there but they don't quite gel. And

Yet another Zemickis film where I vastly prefer the somewhat weird and off-putting source material over the much more popular movie.

I know most people prefer the movie but I strongly prefer the book for just how weird and seedy it is. Its approach to film noir and hard-boiled detective fiction felt less like mere window dressing. And the third act highlighted the absurdity of applying such trappings to a world where cartoons are real.

Looking for an apartment around here is hard. In fact I've just learned that the Twin Cities is officially one of the most difficult places to find a place to rent. It's driving me up the wall. It's not about being able to afford a place either. It's about finding a vacant place that suits my needs and doesn't have

I have to agree. Kits or GTFO.

Oh yeah! Meant to mail that sooner. Sorry for the delay there. What's the email again?

Glad your move went alright. And hear you so much on assessing things directly before and after a move.
