They're playing Klein tonight. Have to admit to being unfamiliar with Klein.

Meeting Asa Gianni today. He's unloading his Hellboy collection on me and I'm one happy camper. Also going to see the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra tonight. Then tomorrow I'm going to a job fair, looking at a potential rental property, and seeing Mortal Kombat on the big screen. So it looks like my real life is going

I really like a good deal of Superman: Birthright. I like the idea of Clark as a human who just happens to be an alien quite a bit. Though some parts don't sit right with me, I still think it's pretty good. I never really could get into Byrne's Man of Steel and post-Birthtright versions of the origin have left me

Moved to the Twin Cities area at the beginning of this month. My cousin offered to put me up for free and even get me a job. The job fell through but the housing turned out to be mostly legit.

Parkinson-Morgan is better known to me by his internet moniker, Abbadon. He's a pretty great guy from what I can gather. Even listened to this terrible webcomic review podcast my friends and I put together.

Supposed to meet Asa Gianni this week so I can buy some Hellboy volumes off him. Turns out he only lives one town over.

Used to live near here almost 10 years ago. I worked at the local animal shelter. I would walk their dogs. They'd put them in these little orange vests that said "adopt me" on them.

I used t live in Toledo, Ohio. So it's a pretty big step up really.

It seems like a place that's very much worth the visit. It's honestly just a matter of me getting there.

Thanks for the tip!

I wonder how much the popularity of X-Men: The Animated Series played a part in the pervasiveness of Jim Lee's style? I mean I know his work was pretty popular in the 90s, but he never really quite faced the ridicule and falling off that Liefeld did. And I wonder if that was because nearly an entire generation was

Here's to a great school year overall!

I'm so glad you're still enjoying StarHammer. Chapter 4 isn't quite finished yet though. Some people wait it out til the end of Chapters to read more and others do the twice-weekly thing. It's up to you.

It seems like I can't go too long without running into Graphic Design positions on Craigslist. Though I Don't know if they're permanent positions or just freelance work.

I'm gonna have to look up how to get over to Eagan (I don't drive). But that's pretty close indeed.

Not where I am currently, but there's apparently a lot in the area.

I've got a friend who HATES Bagley's art but otherwise seems to fall where you do. Not too cartoony and not too realistic unless the book or comic makes its different style work in its favor.

That's a good point. Though I wonder if it's the art style itself or more the execution. Like if those same themes/feelings were expressed by communicated or executed in a way that synced better with any given style would that style be tolerated?

The cartoony/more-animated look was a very intentional choice. When we hired our current penciler/inker he started integrating a very Americanized version of manga/anime visual shorthand that really worked in our favor when combined with the original character designs and overall aesthetics. And our colorist does

I'm still eager to see if Williams will ever be able to do that Daily Planet book for real.
