But just because that part didn't work for you doesn't rob the DCEU of the fact that how regular people fit into the larger world is one of its core objectives.

I say that the DCEU tries to treat the people on the ground with a kind of respect but the results are pretty uneven.
You could make it a weird double feature!
I'd like to revisit NYC some day. But I hope you have a good time!
Enjoy Philly! And thanks for the luck!
Gotham is in the middle of a revitalization stage according to supplemental materials and background information in BvS. I can understand how such a comparison would seem insulting though. But Gotham and Metropolis being right across the bay from each other and having completely different socioeconomic statuses didn't…
I wish I had a dishwasher. That would make things easy. But it saves no time and uses a lot of energy. So I guess maybe washing stuff by hand is still preferable.
Oh jeez. That sucks. I hope you're able to land on your feet. Being functionally homeless is no fun.
If you're sick, you're sick. But if you think you can make it and not infect anyone you should probably go.
Thank you. I doubt I'm going to try to improve my Word skills. I don't think I actually want a desk job to be honest. Just something non-stressful that pays well enough for me to pursue my creative interests.
The DCEU spends tons of time with regular folks. There's entire stretches of Man of Steel that don't directly involve Lois Lane or Clark Kent. Like that entire sequence that's just Perry, Jenny and Steve Lombard trying to survive the onslaught of the World Engine. Or military guys trying to stand up to the Kryptonians…
I don't really mind menial labor. I actually really like dishwashing. It's just forcing myself to start on it that's the problem.
Just because Superman is seemingly unconcerned with regular folks doesn't mean the universe isn't. Superman's POV isn't even the focus of Man of Steel. It spends more time watching other people react to Superman. I'm not saying it's perfect. I'm not even going to try to convince you it did a good job of it. But the…
See I think common people feel like more of an afterthought in the MCU. There's some lip service paid to the idea that the revelation of aliens and super beings deeply affected people but it's not something that the MCU is actually interested in exploring until the Netflix shows/Age of Ultron. Even the HYDRA plot in…
I didn't think anyone would place Wacky Raceland higher than Flintstones. I still need to catch up with #2.
I hope it gets you big savings.
Midway City feels different from Gotham and Metropolis to me. It's obviously a landlocked city with an extensive heavy rail transit network. Like a lot of the DCEU it's slightly overbuilt in its central district. But it does feel a tad generic outside of that. Genericness aside it still looked and felt like a place…
Toys R Us never called back after the interview and follow up.
Yeah pays 14 an hour and comes with benefits. Not sure what all the benefits are though. But it'll be fine probably. Also maybe got a line on an apartment in the Twin Cities area. So hoping that works out for me because I'm homeless in like two weeks.
Saw Suicide Squad today and have been thinking a lot about the DCEU as a whole. The DCEU is very frustrating for me because I really appreciate its aims and ambitions but its execution leaves a lot to be desired. In a lot of ways it's very close to exactly what I'd want out of a live-action superhero universe in…
