Jeep 4.0 liter straight 6. Damn near impossible to kill. Got 300k miles on my last XJ and my current one has 156k. Not the most powerful, but bulletproof reliable...

Costco for gas and Turkey Jerky...

Used to own the Mitsubishi V6 version of this car. Fun cruiser, but the cowl shake was bad over any bumpy roads. The headlight door motor can be problematic - can't imagine being able to find any in a junkyard now. That said, $3200-3500 would be my range, knowing I'd probably have to rebuild the turbo...

My ex-wife...

Not necessarily... except for the fuel injection, and a timing chain replacement (longest damn timing chain you've ever seen), I do all my own maintenance on my '85 Mercedes 380SL. 150k miles, and it's doing great...

You haven't priced SoCal real estate, have you... That's 1.5 to 2 million easy...

Dying to know what the rationale is for these convoluted rules...

Or, you know, you could just watch the first race before completely dismissing it out of hand.... Just a thought...

Feel good story would be Simona, but I think that'll take ALL the stars to align... That said, I like Kanaan's chances. And McLaughlin for Rookie of the Year for the 500...

The XR version has piqued my interest... What's the room like inside for somebody 6'4"?

Looking forward to seeing how the team does now that they’re in the race. Simona should do well now that she’s got a good car under her...

I’m running 5.5" Rubicon front springs and 3.5" leafs on my XJ. But I’m also using a long arm front kit. My arms are almost parallel. Nice ride and great articulation. And shackle relocation boxes at the rear give me much better shackle angles...

Uh, no...

My wife has had a copper colored Honda Fit for a while she naturally named Penny. Since she moved to SoCal it's become Pendejo...

I’m running 5-1/2" lift on my 95 XJ. Ut I’m also using long arms, shackle relocation boxes in the rear to get the right angle on the shackle, and a slip yoke eliminator. Rides not much stiffer than my neighbors stock 96 XJ. If you do it right, the ride won’t suffer.

One of the amazing things about the 917 is jut how mall it is... I’m 6'4" and got an opportunity to set in one at a vintage event.. Cramped doesn’t begin to describe it. And how thin and raw/rough the fiberglass is under the skin...

Don't expect Johnson to be fast out of the box - maybe midpack. But you can't discount 7 Nascar championships. And all the desert wins. Remember, Rick Mears was an offroad ace before he went to IndyCar...

Thanks for sending me down the rabbit hole... Now I (irrationally) want one of these. The Honda Acty Attack - 4x4, locking diffs, all sorts of goodies...

Do it!

Ford branded their trucks as Mercury's back in the day in Canada. Friend of mine owns an early 60s that came with Mercury badging on one side and Ford the other...
