Hm, I've delved below the line often enough on Guardian comment pieces, but it's not a source I go to for TV reviews. Maybe I should take a look - could be interesting to compare.

People certainly *predicted* that Elementary was going to be a cheap knock-off, but I haven't heard anyone saying that who's actually seen it (at least, more than an ep or two).

She probably does. But do we have any evidence that her sexuality isn't bi? The few dates we've seen her on have been with men, but I think, given, er, it's Lucy Liu, we can assume she has had no shortage of other dates that we haven't seen.

I still don't understand people's need to rank the two shows and decide which Is Best. They're completely different types of show, inspired by the same original source material. (I enjoy both, and the RDJ films, and some of the last century's adaptations, and ACD's stories. And they all have their flaws.)

And sexy.

Fair point! (And did not know was on US state school curricula too.)

Not posh-educated. Shakespeare is on the statutory National Curriculum for all schoolkids in England (and Wales). Or at least it was last time I looked.

You have been hanging out with the wrong Londoners. If you visit again, I'm sure the AVClub London contingent could take you to the pub and introduce you to some pleasanter ones.

I find most romantic/intimate scenes between couples irritating, regardless of gender, and don't really want to watch anyone having more than the briefest of smoochies. However, at least when it's two guys, you know it's pissing off the homophobes, which is something.

Hand weakness with pill bottle etc. = having some knowledge of Huntingdon's + diagnosis -> psychosomatic symptoms.
Wearing grandad cardigan = feeling sorry for himself.

It's never bothered me that some prefer the term math and some maths.
I just hope that all the people who say 'math' also say 'physic' rather than 'physics', for consistency…

It's actually no worse than any other dull outer London suburb, but used to be, and has a reputation for being a charmless hole - and completely off the radar to rich snob types like the Gs. A social climber like Ashley would

Actually a lot of the time we use metric…

Hey, have you *been* to Croydon?
I have. And it has made me lol every time they've mentioned it. Weird choice by writers.

Soz, phone typing errors.

Re frenetic pacing, maybe an ignorant question, but just wondering if everyone saw the same thing, and if not, how much difference it would make to perception of pace. Obv same number of eps, but am I right in thinking that BBC shows are sometimes drastically cut for American TV? Seem to remember people saying Life on

I cut and dyed my own hair yesterday in the bathroom. It took about an hour and was cheap and easy. Admittedly the haircut is not the best I've ever had, but it's ok, and with TV magic I'm sure Hannah could manage something much cuter.

Burn Notice crossover.
