As I understand it, research indicates certain professional classes (e.g. CEOs) *sharing certain traits associated with APD/psychopathy* rather than *being* (i.e. having levels of enough traits at high enough level for clinical diagnosis) psychopaths. Not same thing.
Preferably an attractive and amusing infographic, perhaps by whoever did that one of Walking Dead zombie-kills that was going round a while back.
I'm surprised they haven't already clarified that Vogel chose to study and become an expert on psychopaths because - ta da - she is one herself. Maybe saving that for a mid-season 'surprise'.
Vastra spinoff delayed until they work out a way of putting on her reptile skin makeup in under 5 hours…
The Moriarty accent did not sound like anyone's natural accent to me. It sounded like a stagey traditional English Master Criminal accent. Or, to be kinder, just a trained non-regional RP (which the character might have good reason for putting on).
I was also confused (and rather taken out of the moment) by wondering about the relevance of Don Giovanni, and what the common theme might be. If they just wanted some ominous building orchestral music for a scene, there's plenty to choose from that isn't instantly recognisable. Nice suggestion about assumed-dead…
I like that too, but I thought he was saying Fo-Bro (i.e. short for Foster Brother).
Yes, schtum is a common slang term in London. Always assumed it was a Yiddish term, but maybe not?
I misheard blaggard and thought he said blagger.
If any reader is actually interested in the original language issue here (as opposed to just jumping in to throw a few more playground insults across the pond), you might find these links interesting.

There's a basic standard model for sexuality that's been used in psychology, which has three separate parts: orientation, activity and identification (or similar terms), which seems to work pretty well for general purposes.
- Orientation: Which sex(es) you are attracted to.
- Activity: Which sex(es) you decide to…

From the ep title I'd been hoping not for some old flashbacks, but for a new character in the form of Doakes' previously-unmentioned twin brother. Or possibly Doakes' more cheerful non-twin brother, played by Matthew St Patrick for added 6 Feet Under meta-ness.

Yes, yes, am a killjoy for calling out language displaying
prejudice/hatred towards a particular subgroup. Except I don't think you or
anyone else would be leaping to the defence of casual racial slurs (e.g. if it
had been "dancing like a - " well, use your imagination).

WTF? Mocking someone's mobility by suggesting they have Cerebral Palsy, using a term particularly offensive and hateful to people with disabilities? Are we in a 1980s school playground? Wouldn't be too surprised to see it below the line, but expected better from AVClub staff.
