WTF? Mocking someone's mobility by suggesting they have Cerebral Palsy, using a term particularly offensive and hateful to people with disabilities? Are we in a 1980s school playground? Wouldn't be too surprised to see it below the line, but expected better from AVClub staff.

While the suspicious police officer and various others may throw around terms like psycho/sociopath, I was disappointed that Sherlock wasn't up on current DSM definitions and diagnoses of personality disorders (which don't fit well at all). Watson was closer, with a line about Asperger's*. And the character's

That's alright. We don't find the American accent* attractive on either men or women. (NB Before someone says Hugh Laurie, that's despite the accent, not because of.)

Yep. Round where I live, people walk around wearing all sorts and nobody bats an eyelid. Saw a guy on the bus recently strip to his shorts and then wrap himself in bandages like a mummy. (It was near Halloween, mind…)

And why not fill it? In S1 Dexter was presented as basically asexual, then for plot reasons he was required to have relationships with women, and so discovered his hetero identity; he could not inconsistently have discovered his bi side for a sexy male killer. At the very least, viewers would have been less likely to

Holmes would definitely prefer a date format where the elements were ordered logically by magnitude.

Wonderful how individual tastes vary. I love this show, but I don't fancy one person on it (and I'm well-balanced right in the middle of the scale). If push came to shove, I'd go for Nolan, just because I have a thing for geeks. He'd have to wear glasses, though. Porters come last.

I was under the impression everyone has hormones. But maybe I've picked up some dodgy medical knowledge from watching this show.

The dogging pun made me laugh. Am I really the only one?

I don't think she sounds Croydon at all. But she does sound like someone putting on an accent that isn't their own.

Is it an American thing, this fixation on social class? To us, Tom's accent just comes across as regional*, not "working class". And "ass" isn't that funny because it's an American term - we say arse.
* I can't identify precisely which area of the UK it's from.

Is it elocution-snobbish to point out that there's about a metric million different regional/ethnic/cultural variations and combinations that could legitimately be called British accents?
Unfortunately, RSL's accent was not one of them.

It's calling for a Sherlock crossover, surely?
