True! Every season she goes mad, gets broken, finds her strength. She's a gifted performer (I keep reiterating this because I don't want to get misrepresented as not liking her), but it's not unfamiliar territory for this show.

I think my dislike for her might have been because everyone else seemed to have a defining character trait/facet. Wasikowska's Alice sounded bored to me, not peevish. And bored was such an odd way to react to everything going on in that movie.
