I was getting Daredevil flashbacks.

I loved the Fisher King in the darkened hallway and the truly amazing silhouette. It looked too ponderous in the daytime, strangely dumpy walking across the field. That fourth wall monologue at the start was so full of fizz and momentum - a real treat!

That's the very comparison I was going to make!
I want to see her start taking little action figures out of the box and throwing them in the general direction of Ichabod and Abbie.

"Pan is an elaborate flight of fancy with no vision—which makes it strangely compelling in spots."

A fool's errand.
I hear "video game traveling music" and all I hear are banjos. Forever.

No - if it's the most recent one then no, it is not worth checking out.

HA!
"Did you break into the house, Damien?"
"Yes, Captain Hook!"
"And what did you steal?"
"Well, nothing, Sir. It all looked so nice that I didn't want to mess with it."
"That's fine, Damien. You'll loot better next time. Here's a trophy."

But, but it's a PIXIE CUT!

From the original Disney mermaids:
"We were only trying to drown her…"
And Peter Pan was not the least put out by this.

What, no love for the chocobo music? I swear I didn't stop humming the banjo music from FFIX till 2010. Aaaaaand now it's back in my brain. Thanks, AV Club.

It grew on me over time. When it started I was not amused by the drunk aspect because I thought the stories were too interesting to make room for tangents. I also don't like being sober around drunk people - so annoying.

There was an old pinball machine at the roller rink in my (extremely rural) home town. You could win baseball cards.

Maybe they were latter day pool tables? Idle hands and games of chance promote laziness and the wasting of time. I'm guessing all this, but I seem to remember that there has traditionally been a moral backlash to anything that doesn't involve "skill."

Excellent use of sound, anyway. The first time those monks started chanting in the distance *shiver* was a great lurking/looming danger sound.

Oh God, the tiny, tiny screams…

That would explain why he'll buy all the baubles!

Anne Lammott says (paraphrasing) that perfectionism is the belief that if you jump from stone to stone without making a mistake, you won't die.

For me, it was the Regenerators - I couldn't handle the breathing.
Now I wonder if I played it again if I'd still hit that wall…

My brother did that once, and he did exactly what you did - he didn't save out of fear for the future. Wow, this suggests that Merchant really took on a powerful psychological power.

I guess I didn't think of it that way, but in retrospect I did enjoy resting near Merchant during RE4. He was an oasis, and I never thought for a moment he was entirely human. 4 got under my skin in the worst way, though, as it was my first "horror" game. So yes, amen for the money man this one and only time.
