Even before the divorce, Jennifer Garner was getting shit roles. It just seems like she’s been forever doomed by Hollywood to play the younger housewife to men that are way older than her in mediocre comedies.

True. It annoys me how certain American comedies like Archer have characters that hate each other and are constantly at each others throats, but then insist that they’re “like a family”. Just seems false.

I’ve noticed that British humor tends to be a bit bleaker and matter-of-fact; the situations can be just as absurd and madcap as American comedies, but their’s an underlying bitterness, and the characters are usually resigned to their dull, pathetic existence, whereas American comedy tends to at least soften the blow…
