I work on proprietary, in-house game engines for a living. The company I currently work for has been using the “same” engine for more than 15 years.

Thank you for educating me on this! I wish it was easier to find out about the technical side of gaming in a way that can be clear to the lay person. Like a “The Universe in a Nutshell” for gaming.

For some reason reading through this article I was reminded of a Tom Hanks interview where he got into talking about the weird questions he would get, as while everyone knows what a movie is, how they get made is a whole other kettle of fish. (His example was being asked “How did you feel when your agent told you you

Great article! I learned a few things.

Except the writer of the Forbes article actually is gaming press, even if the site he writes for is not. He doesn’t write about anything other than games. If anything his article is an example of gamers not understanding the games they play.

Shabazz Palaces, Black Up:

Also, Dhalsim’s stretchy limbs are likely cribbed from the 1977 Kung-Fu classic, Master of the Flying Guillotine. Recommended if you haven’t seen it.

here’s my unpopular opinion: uhhhHHhhhHHhhhhHHHhhHhhHhHhhh that’s just your opinion manTheDude.gif

If these were mobile or $10 Steam spin-offs I would play all of these.

You call Magic a “children’s card game” three times in the article, but that was never actually true. I’ve worked at game stores on and off since the Unlimited set came out, and the average age of Magic customers was always around early-20s — the rules were too complicated for younger kids (with several notable
