I always thought the reason people enjoyed him was because it was watching scum go after scum, (what can I say, we all love a spectacle), so I don’t know why people are surprised that the law’s caught up with him.

It was a fucking trip. I couldn’t get over his family’s reaction.
That’s what people keep saying! I think it’s that all of this commentary is written—I tend to think more about what I’m saying/how it sounds when I’m putting something in writing.
One story with double the shady:
As a former lifeguard and competitive swimmer, I salute you. You’ve made us proud.
Thank you!
That is one hell of a compliment :) thank you!
23 year olds know that this sort of behavior is unacceptable in the workplace, and if they think it isn’t, they’re wrong. I was 23 less than six months ago. Age is not an excuse here, and if I had done this at my workplace, you better believe I’d have been fired just the same as if one of my older colleagues had done…
Good news: the Catholic church’s views on annulment are different now than they were during the reign of Henry VIII. Children from annulled marriages aren’t considered illegitimate, in large part because caring about a child’s legitimacy really only mattered in bygone times.
Hm. I guess I can see that. But considering she slipped out of it on occasion, my guess is that she only ever used it in professional settings. Toggling back and forth between her natural tone at home/in private versus the other in public means that it’d take conscious thought ever time, as she wasn’t actually…
Oh definitely. I think it strikes a chord just because it’s so personal in nature, and the intent one would need to pull that off is immense. And it sounds rather uncomfortable to force yourself to speak like someone else for, I’m guessing, the better part of fifteen years.
I can’t even imagine having the concentration it must have taken to constantly lower her pitch, for years.
Ain’t that the fucking truth.
I am actually pretty-well read on the concept of the Mary Sue, including the original fanfic. Have you seen the comic that went around a few years ago about it? I thought that was one of the best ways to teach the concept. I think you’re totally right about none of her claims passing muster because they’re not there…
The whole ‘published two books of poetry’ thing was really what did it for me. Like...there’s no way. Self-published, maybe.
Eh. She must also be supremely well-connected. I know a few extremely beautiful people and so far all but one of them has been as boring and normal as I am.
I truly do not understand how so much has happened for this girl in only 23 years.
Obviously not very. Which isn’t much of a surprise, there really aren’t many people who are cash rich rather than asset rich nowadays, especially to the tune of $90 million; most who are, are either supremely old wealth, or presumably involved in illegal activities where cash is a necessity for them.
Ohio also defunded Planned Parenthood this week, in that PP lost their court appeal over the law defunding them.
Exactly, I don’t really expect most of these parents to get significant jail time—I agree that they’re probably going to end up with a significant amount of assets forfeited instead. The people running the scam, on the other hand, will probably see a lot more prison time.
