I kind of like it, in terms of the writing. As information to decide whether or not to see a movie it’s terrible but the display of verbal gymnastics to avoid imparting either facts or opinions is almost worth the time spent.

The earliest example of this in fiction that I can recall offhand is Asimov’s short story “The Last Question” but there are almost certainly similar ideas from before that, I’m just not as up on pre-WWII science fiction.
