A Drop of Hell, A Touch of Strange

I think they’re referencing Jolson’s real life career, which seems to mostly consist of blackface performances of which this is just the most famous. Odd choice of words for it though. I'm drawing a blank as to what might have been corrected to "addiction".

I’m pretty sure if you tell people that milk is the performance beverage of gamers they'd say that sounds like a disgusting flavor of Mountain Dew and ask how they keep it from going bad on the shelf.

And they will receive more confrontation. Cops, courts, COs, cellmates. Conflicts. I’m glad they didn’t get away with some stand your ground BS but our penal system won’t teach them anything either. One locked up, one laid up and nothing but some shitty video to show for it. No lessons learned.

Sounds like the shooter is getting what he deserves but the YouTuber needs more persuasion to stop making videos that depend on bothering strangers while filming them for profit without consent. Apparently having his organs perforated once wasn’t enough. Some people just won’t learn. Maybe a pivot to nonconfrontational

If your parents’ neighbors are aware of Greene and don’t already know she’s a lunatic can you imagine any Q&A session that changes their minds? Other than getting her on tape admitting to being a fraud or possibly discussing serious mental health issues what would do it that her own many previous statements wouldn’t?

I can see your point about more detailed questions and giving Greene’s bizarre beliefs/statements a closer look, I just don’t think it would do any good. She’d just deflect from or completely ignore any line of questioning that doesn’t seem to be going her way by ignoring the basic manners most people learn as a

I’m sure if anyone in the 60 Minutes audience is emboldened by Greene’s nonsense to attempt to commit acts of hatred their caregivers at the assisted living facility (or long-suffering family members) will restrain them.

Do you subscribe to subscription content services, enjoy all the content they have then continue to pay for them for years while not using them at all? That seems to be what you're asking companies to do regarding their employees. Continue paying for them after they are no longer of use. Why should they?

Huh. While I feel that this scenario is likely to have happened I also have the suspicion that it’s equally likely the person being interviewed made it up completely in order to better illustrate a point they were making. So I cannot tell whether this actually happened or not.

“Passionate”. That’s a nice way of saying “insane”. Especially as this movie is aimed at a general audience and not specifically made for the kind of adults who get mad online about the voicing of a corporate mascot so he could probably call these people the weird losers they are and barely lose any box office.

Autocorrected incorrectly I would imagine.

Where you’re from is it usual to assume new technology works perfectly and is free from bugs and glitches? Must be a nice place.

I know multiple gun owners who’ve stopped being members of the NRA because they consider it a lobbying group for manufacturers and corrupt to boot. Not only has their leadership embezzled funds they spend almost nothing on actual programs for gun owners like freely available weapon safety courses or standardization of

Oh good. I’m sure if it needs to be replaced it’ll be cheap and easy to get to, but of course that won’t be necessary because it won’t ever malfunction and delay you let alone fail and strand you entirely. Maybe they can integrate it with driver assist so if it detects anything it thinks is alcohol it can just pull

Not only the title of a book but a hit song!?!

“Ultimately, it has no limitations, so therefore can’t inhabit the true transcendent artistic experience. It has nothing to transcend!”

Lots of fantasy, SF and genre writers generally aren’t good in a literary sense. Including plenty I’ve read and enjoyed. Hell, when they try the results are usually awful. If I want to be challenged I’ll go to the classics and modern fiction that pushes the boundaries the classics established. If I want to be

That is definitely a concern but it’d take huge amounts of particles dispersed in the atmosphere to make a difference so I think we’d have plenty of warning. Just in case maybe we could come up with another substance that would bind to those particles and bring them down faster or change their reflective properties.

Seeding the atmosphere with reflective particles to increase the Earth’s albedo would be easier to do than a gigantic solar shade. Sure we'll have to put them back up as they filter down to the ground but we never have to leave the atmosphere.

I feel like that's how pretty much how the life of any top of the A list celebrity goes.
