That is definitely a concern but it’d take huge amounts of particles dispersed in the atmosphere to make a difference so I think we’d have plenty of warning. Just in case maybe we could come up with another substance that would bind to those particles and bring them down faster or change their reflective properties.

Seeding the atmosphere with reflective particles to increase the Earth’s albedo would be easier to do than a gigantic solar shade. Sure we'll have to put them back up as they filter down to the ground but we never have to leave the atmosphere.
