THIS! That is exactly why I waited to see how D2 would be handled. And I’ve kept listening to the players and watching for signs that D2 would be a better experience than D1, but fat chance I guess.

Agreed. I play an MMO or two, but I always play “solo”, not in the together/social sense they’re intended to be played. When I know damn well that games like the Witcher series, would be MUCH better for my play style, more interested in the world and the story/lore than loot and bragging rights.

I feel you. My game backlog is much like my reading backlog. Will I realistically even read the 3000+ books I’ve got sitting in boxes in storage, or the 1500+ digital copies I’ve been buying the last 10 years after my wife and I both agreed we don’t have anymore room for all these books? Much less any more I buy…

Not the best story-wise, but part of the draw for me wasn’t just the base game, it was the ability to create your own levels/stories with the Aurora(?) engine.

Since not a whole lot was done apparently enhancement-wise, if you’re on the fence I’d say pick it up from GoG. Not sure how much it is regular price, but I picked up the entire Platinum (or Diamond?) collection earlier this year for $9.99 when I was trapped at home after a car accident.
