I think soju is great stuff. I like the brand with the little frog on it. I’ve had many an after work outing to an AYCE KBBQ joint with soju and Hites.  We used to make sure to go at least once a month.

I was unaware of a non city location. I’ll be sure to check out good smoke next time I’m in town and pass the recommendation to my parents..

Never been to Good Smoke. Last time I was in town I had some decent BBQ at Sticky Lips but that was a good 5 years ago so not sure if they are still around.

My usual is 2 white hots, mac and home fries, everything, heavy sauce.

Modern commercial figs don’t require pollination anymore so you may not be eating wasps at all. We have a good amount of fig trees between our house, my in laws and even our old house and I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a male fig.

This is dumb on multiple levels. First it looks gross. It also has a wicked hollow spot and looks dry as hell. Nothing about this makes me want to consume it.

I had no idea it would last that long.  I assume you cover it with plastic wrap or something.  I will trying doing a half at a time.  Have you ever tried freezing a half?  Does that work?

We are big on pumpkin soup and do basically the same thing with chicken stock. We usually add cream at the table.  I have the girls paint their pumpkins every year so we can make good use of the seeds and flesh after Halloween.

I love butternut squash but they are so huge we just end up with waste. I end up using acorn squash the most since its more user friendly or I buy the overpriced pre-cubed stuff.

I don’t know but I can only conclude that Mad Men was pretty accurate to the times.

Well I think I found the restaurant I referenced in another Canada post that served Italian with a wrestling theme. I believe the restaurant was Big Anthony’s. It was run by a former pro wrestler Tony Parisi. The sad news is that Tony died in 2000 and the restaurant now seems to be an Indian restaurant.  I’ll have a…
