Like he was hanging out with his agent one day and was like “What do you mean I don’t own Rocky, I am Rocky!!!”

True, Stallone essentially got the idea for Rocky from the Ali-Wepner fight, and if memory serves, even had to pay out some settlement money to Wepner years after the fact.
It is definitely a shame and a sin that Chuck Wepner doesn’t own any of the Rocky franchise rights.

I feel like the people that have kids forget that there are people who don’t.
It’s possible that the show just does not care and won’t bother explaining.
After reading this piece I had to check out Nathan For You. This guy is like the softer side of Sacha Baron Cohen.
Whatever issues I had with Crystal Skull, there was one thought that has followed me for the last fourteen years, and I still agree with it to this day.
“Review didn’t make me mad enough so I made up a different review to get mad at.”
I’ve said this before on another post about this movie. I love The Gray Man series of books and I am excited for the movie, especially if AV Club thinks it’s pretty good! I think Chris Evans as a zany villain has a lot of potential. What KILLS me though is Ryan Gosling as The Gray Man. He’s called The Gray Man because…
Good to see they bounced back from Cherry.
The comics mostly but the MCU as well a bit. I just want her to be her own thing and not part of a team where she may get overshadowed
You’re not far off. The original idea dates to 2010. The movie was announced in 2014, picked up for distribution in 2015 and entered cryostasis when the company set to animate it closed shop the following year.
Be a bit weird to extend Karachi to a season in India instead of Pakistan.
I always felt that Django Unchained more or less disproved that “Blazing Saddles couldn’t get made today” argument, although the debate has gone on long enough now that I suppose even that retort is a bit dated.
If Archie Bunker were on TV in 2022, he’d come off as too subtle. Fox News has about three hours of Archie Bunkers ranting directly into the camera every weeknight.
Nowhere did he say that any part of Blazing Saddles shouldn’t exist, just that parts of it hit different today. If anything, he’s making the point that an R-rated movie from 48 years ago is somehow more progressive than its own 2022 remake aimed at kids.
The Karachi episodes had great stuff with the mother/daughter relationships and flashback, but Kamala felt like a passenger in both and the show sorely missed the Jersey supporting cast. This show should’ve been eight episodes.
Only because Bobcat doesn’t do his old shtick anymore, though.
Despite the faults of the 6 episode template and some plot points and character stuff that seemed a little rushed here just to keep things tidy, I’m gonna say it!
