honestly, as a kid i probably watched it more as a straightforward space adventure movie with some jokes.

last duel fucks so hard i was so happy i got to see it in a theatre. he’s pretty much good in everything! i liked him in white noise and ferrari a lot, too. even 65 wasn’t a complete trainwreck (if nothing special).

i do think, in a small way, asking everyone to rank and rate and grade everything in their personal lives has had a negative effect. if a normal uber ride is a 5 star experience and a slightly annoying one is a 1 star experience i think that bleeds into everything.

i think if you get spielberg + hanks together they’d still be able to get this into a theatre. it was a weird one at the time of release, even.

i’m excited for this one, but it does make me laugh that it’s a movie based on a photo book.

i went back and forth on it and i don’t consider star wars episode 9: the rise of skywalker the same thing as ‘an adam driver hit’. i think it would have made that same amount of money if he didn’t appear in it. 

i’ve said it elsewhere in this thread, but to be dropped so totally by society he clearly had absolutely no actual fanbase. if he did, his career wouldn’t be over.
