i’m a weird freak who loves knowing about older/obscure stuff too, but it’s something that i’ve never even heard a reference to.

agreed. super dumb reason to put a target on your movie’s back.

i watched an entire playthrough on youtube once with the cut scenes because i don’t fear death or value my personal time. it’s great!

well there’s a difference between ‘movie you like’ and ‘movie that is considered a classic’. there are lots of classics i don’t like, doesn’t make them not classics.

i’m 40 and this is the first i’m hearing of the show’s existence ever.

jesus that was a long trailer that seemed to show off every scene of the movie.

it’s really infuriating that jordan peele walked into disney, pitched them a gargoyles movie, and they said ‘nah we’re good’...like...come on!

my biggest problem with convenant is that they didn’t put danny mcbride in a mech suit.

the best ghostbusters sequel is the ps3/360'era game. the gameplay itself is whatever, but the story is fun, it’s set in 1991 so the characters are still young, they even brought atherton back in that one first and best of all harold ramis was still alive when they made it.

i liked it more than 2 other indiana jones movies. it’s squarely in the middle for me.

dial of destiny? it obviously had callbacks and references, but the movie itself was more or less just a new indy adventure.

this is the videogames it’s different.

also notable that (obviously without calculating inflation) they all made fairly similar amounts at the box office.

also like...i’d happily trade jeffrey jones, geena davis and alec baldwin for willem dafoe. good trade!

well it was nice to read a positive, relatively enthusiastic review here at least.

right but marketing has changed in the last 40 years.

just playing the hits. hey what does everyone think of the last jedi?

love hearing how charged up burton was on-set and that they’re working with real stuff. we might just have something here.

definitely felt like the mythologizing was part of consuming it from the jump. people in the 60s and 70s couldn’t really ‘own’ a movie or tv show, and kids now can’t own half the shit that comes out even if they wanted to.

being mad at young people for a road house remake is so insane i can’t stop laughing. this might be the first genuinely pure example of ageism as prejudice i’ve ever seen.
