I don’t normally comment, but I felt the need to point out the hypocrisy of this article. I’m all for pointing out if a women is being body shamed, for whatever reason, but to call a white, non curvy, white, blonde, blue eyed girl a “ walking bowl of buttered noodles” is absolutely doing the SAME DAMN THING.

Whatever this is, it really misses the mark.

Oh no, I think we all got your point. Everyone understands you are the problem.

Go across the world and see how Western music has been “appropriated” (used as a ridiculous term by narrow-minded people) often extremely badly to a Western ear- by thousands upon thousands of artists. Are Asians, Africans, Middle Easterners, Eastern European etc. etc. being ethnically “mediocre”?

That stream’s not so pure either. If you look back to the oldest country artists - Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams, Bill Monroe - they were all hugely influenced by Delta blues and and other musical styles that were traditionally black. Music, more than most art forms, seems to be one where different streams are drawn

I guess she is only allowed to sing country music?

Popular music is part of everyone’s culture. So nothing is being appropriated. I dislike Meghan Trainor but she grew up heavily exposed to music made by both white and black people. That’s her culture.
