Hawkeye had the best Avengers line ever.

Wouldn’t it have cost him way less to design a small helicopter?

Just remember that if you do move to Hangouts, Google will also phase that out in 4 years just as you’re finally accustomed to it - maybe to Allo / Duo, maybe to whatever they think is cool that year.

I didn’t even know GTalk was still around. I was transitioned — against my will — about a year or two ago. I wish Hangouts would do the side-docking minimization instead of occupying space on my taskbar...I wish the online/off-line thing worked properly (generally I just ping people with a “???” to see if they’re

I feel like the import ban is just ridiculous here. I feel like in general a crime is only a crime if a person or group is in some way harmed, or going to be harmed. (financially, physically, mentally etc). These cars though don’t harm much anyone. Maybe a case could be made on emissions, but then we’d have to crack

The comedy of it all is claiming that the 25-year exemption for emissions and safety regulations is to keep unsafe, “dirty” cars out.

Not always as black and white as you may think. A friend who was a little drunk took his girlfriends phone and through it out the balcony because she kept filming him while he was playing poker with us and the only reason she was doing it was to piss him off. She called the cops and he was arrested. He pled guilty

Because the police never lose, take, or destroy private property “on accident”. There were hundreds of people who had guns confiscated after Hurricane Katrina and never got them back. The number of people who imply they trust cops to do that but don’t trust them to do even the most basic functions of their jobs never

I will play devil’s advocate and say that while I’m disappointed in Trump’s decision, ultimately the climate does not give a shit about some artificial agreement that merely serves as a way to politicize climate change. Something to pat ourselves on the back about. What matters is real action, and clean energy

A highly biased report that denies a host of realties.

These predictions mean next to nothing to real people. Look at last year’s “near-normal” and this years “above-average”. And I live in affected regions.

for the first time in years, the weather monitoring agency is predicting more hurricanes than average.

I didn’t even notice until right now that this article doesn’t provide any linkage to the actual research paper that the article is about... Here’s the link to the actual research paper if anyone’s interested.

In the past, some of the writing here has been excellent. Even when popularized, it did not always veer into the glib or the frankly stupid, and the writers often did the right thing by providing links to source publications (as opposed to other news reporting).

You are ... gonna be very disappointed in somewhere between one-half and one-third of Gizmodo’s science writing.

I barely got past the insipid “they’ve got spiky genitals meant to hurt females while boning” nonsense. It’s cool to try to make science more interesting by making it informal, but idiotic and reductive statements about biological processes that imagine sexist attention (male or female oriented) make this kind of

Which would then pull millions out of conservation funding for Africa?

My doctor wanted me to get a colonoscopy, but my insurance would not cover any of it because I’m under 50. I never bothered to find out the actually cost of the procedure but 15 minute consultation I had with the GI doctor cost me $400.

Currently, with fair to good insurance a Colonoscopy is at least $700 to $1,000 in added costs that are not covered by insurance. I’m over 50 and have delayed mine because quite frankly I can not afford it. That’s today.

I just had a colonoscopy a few months ago for digestive issues, it was $3800 (my out of pocket costs)....I’d take $1600 all day long....heck give me a double.
