Indeed. More to the point, I hate the whole idea of completely not celebrating hitting a home run at all, lest the precious feelings of the pitcher be hurt...like, it’d be one thing if Bautista (or anyone) ran around the bases, pointing at the pitcher and calling him a bitch or something, but all he did was throw his

If I may interject, there is a fundamental difference between car insurance and health care...the point of car insurance is to a) make money for the insurance company and b) provide a way for a wronged party to be compensated when a driver hits something that he can’t afford himself to replace. On the other hand,

Only female circumcision?

Doing some quick napkin math here: 750 room nights at $150/room (yes, it was Christmas but you gotta figure they’re getting a decent rate, booking that many rooms at once) is just under 125K, and assuming it’s a grand per person for airfare (again pretty generous I think) you’re still only up to a half million or so.

One million stars for this.

Actually you’re both sort of right (and wrong)...while the home of the Cup is indeed the HHOF in Toronto, the “real” Cup (meaning the one they currently award, not the original or the replica) spends quite a bit of time travelling. The winning team gets it all summer, and the rest of the year it shows up at charity

Just wanted to say great article and it absolutely made my day to immediately remember the “get more stupider” rhyme and be instantly transported back to the 3rd grade. Anyway I gotta go, I’m off to Mars to get MORE CHOCOLATE BARS!

Also was there an official estimate of that last one? It hit above the old Windows restaurant so I gotta believe that allowed to travel, that would have been easily 460-475. Other than Canseco’s mega moon shot to the 500 level back in the 90s I think that’s one of the longest if not the longest one I can remember at

I feel so bad for Delgado that he accomplished such an amazing piece of hitting in front of like 50 people, cause the Jays level of suckitude was so very, very high in those days. I blame the super lame uniforms.

You mean other than the time he appeared, and was interviewed? Oh but fair enough, you meant Bill O’Rielly, who is probably a plumber from Topeka or something and indeed has not interviewed the former president, and not the recently fired asstwat Bill O’Reilly. If you’re gonna be an idiot, at least spell the name of

I may well have, my eternal raging hatred for soccer often blinds me to the most obvious of things. I respectfully stand by what I said, notwithstanding the confusion from whence it was brought forth.

1500 dumbasses in a square, watching the world’s most boring sport and then getting only slightly injured is a tragedy turning into a great event. Maybe next time they’ll just go to bar or watch from home, and put on something worth watching. Everybody wins.

Must be pretty awesome to get paid millions of dollars, and the biggest deal in your life is that someone else has a piece of fabric on his back in the same shape as the one you wore for a while, and that you feel he should have a differently shaped piece of fabric on his back. Guess what, DF, a slap in the face is

Nice article, Barry...did not expect the crazy backlash of right-wing psychos in an article about hockey. Here I was thinking I could just read a rather well written article about my favorite sport without getting into an insane debate but evidently this is the world we live in now. In any case keep it up, this was a

The only thing people are confused about is people like you, looking everywhere for a liberal media conspiracy that doesn’t exist. It’s not all about you. Sometimes a well written article about hockey is just a well written article about hockey. Calm down and go back to coming up with zingers like “libtard.” Not sure

Surely you jest...you don’t even have to be a Scotch snob to know that Johnnie Red is absolute piss. Chivas is somewhat passable if you’re mixing it (ie. Rusty Nail, etc). Dewar’s is for college guys who want to impress people by drinking Scotch but know absolutely nothing about it. Plus those are all blends, and

Absolutely disagree...the Oilers-Ducks series was awesome, Rangers-Sens and Caps-Leafs were fantastic. Even the Flames-Ducks was great and not as one-sided as the final results would have you believe. Chicago getting swept and the Blues series were whatever, but overall this year has been killer IMO.

I’ll assume that you were a little kid when this happened, and it was in the 1930s, because $20 does not buy you even an average bottle of Scotch.

WHOOOOOAAAAA if you heard this from a French Canadian then all bets are off. I assume if they were complaining about a group from Toronto then they were at *least* somewhat separatist Quebecers which means their opinions mean nothing and they haven’t thought for one microsecond about their place in the universe.

On behalf of Blue Jays fans to the rest of the league: please believe us, we’re not all fuckheads, throwing beer and running on the field during live play. I have no idea why this keeps happening at the Dome but I for one am totally OK with coming down *really* hard on people that do this.
