People, it turns out, like to be deceived into thinking they’re getting a sale, even when they’re really not.

Sometimes the person I’m pissing off is my editor of course.
As a newspaper reporter (yes, we still exist) I always tell people that if I didn’t piss someone off today than I didn’t work hard enough.
Pissing people off isn’t doing good journalism. Informing people is doing good journalism. Going for information and appealing to smart discussions instead of clickbait is good journalism.
High Five to you for making decisions that work for you!
My wife and I are in a similar situation - she works full time and I work part time when she isn’t working, and take care of our son.
We did the math and one of us (most likely me, since I earn less currently) would have to take another job just to afford child…
Here we go with the “screaming kid” strawman. No one is saying that kids should be allowed to scream with abandon in a professional environment. The author says repeatedly that she took her baby out of the conference when she started to fuss and would continue to do so, and that she wasn’t going to be teaching with…
I used to comment regularly on Jezebel for years (under a different name) and stopped because of the feeling the author describes when someone she assumed would be an ally made her feel unwelcome.
I have to say, I kind of agree. I mean it’s fucking awesome that she overcame her eating disorder and is now comfortable enough with her body to do a photoshoot with no makeup or retouching. However, let’s be honest, she might as well have been wearing makeup and been retouched as far as anyone looking at the pictures…
Here’s a piece of advice: when you read a comment, don’t pick and choose aspects of it to argue against. See how every point works to create a cohesive idea first.
Oh my God. I want to punch someone, but I don’t think that will help me here.
We could start a kickstarter for an investigation to find out.
That’s great - to be able to find a way to enjoy your work, whatever it is, certainly makes life less of a drag. I don’t think it’s the end of the world when people treat their job as a means to an end, something not particularly inherently enjoyable, but worth it for what it provides.
To this day, hands down, the most enjoyable line at an amusement park is Star Tours in Dworld. Those memories are ingrained in my childhood mind
I had an epiphany the other day. Specifically, screw sidequests. I mean, do them, they’re fine, but I just don’t have enough damn time in the day. I also deleted every video game from my computer except for Dark Souls and a couple rogue-likes as a way to let it all go, because my backlog was reaching levels that…
The involvement of Henson’s Creature Shop in the building of the animatronics is quite promising. The presence of practical effects is also greatly appreciated.
Yeah, I don’t thing a lot of people cared or used the analog melee but that was why I bought Dead Island. I can see how it wouldn’t work in Dying Light though with the parkour moves.
Sweet Jesus, someone who uses something other than a Mac. And it’s a Chromebook Pixel, no less!
I will shoot you like a duck!
I think it's the people from the 'ethics in journalism' side of GG
Agreed. He already made the comprehension to Destiny in this very article calling it just as bad. So any idea of people trying to prove Kotaku or Jason being biased should have been obvious by that. Regardless if an article was written about it or not.
