@spectralveil: Verizon and Motorola had to license the term Droid from George Lucas if I'm not mistaken.

@spectralveil: Palm created the term 'app' quite a while ago... or at least trademarked it. The idea of an 'app store' wasn't even a new idea, and the words 'Pizza' and 'Hut' aren't 2 words that would be used together in normal conversation except to define that company. An app store is completely elementary and far

"is now about as old as your grandpa."

Slow news day at Gawker.

Uh I'm confused... the title says 'iPad,' the article says Android and the source says iTunes...

@Bob Barker: It's ok, no one reads this site anymore anyways.

You don't recall correctly then, the original Droid never had E-Fuze or anything of the sort. The Droid 2 and X do, but you can still root and not have any issues with E-Fuze, can even load custom roms, quite easily, just can't change the kernel or modify the boot loader.

@Giggity: Go in the Market and get an app called 'Spare Parts.' When you run it, there's a setting for 'Compatibility mode,' uncheck it and reboot your Xoom, then check the apps that don't scale well or don't scale at all, should help. Glad I don't have any of the other issues you have with my Xoom though.

@siwex80: What does bricking have anything to do with this?

Slow news day

Haven't thought of that one, I don't have a case for it yet, but that's a valid point... Although, quite honestly, it gets an EASY 10hr battery life with the screen on nearly the entire time browsing the web, so if it's on an extra 30s in a case, oh well... Well, I have my screen timeout at 5 minutes, but the

I've actually been thinking about what I like about the Xoom so much and this article hit on the main reason I like the Xoom. Honeycomb has managed to put a little bit of Windows PC into the experience with the layout, the notifications, multitasking preview, etc, and I feel right at home. Even the clock is where I'm

@n00neimp0rtant: Looks like a direct copy of an Android story that ran recently about running windowed apps, forget the companies name that made it work...

The Apple tax has seemingly moved on from a tax on the actual hardware to a tax on the 'apps' as well as a tax on the in-app payment system.

For someone like myself, planning on replacing the phone with a tablet, this is great news. I was going to have a data plan on my Xoom the entire time I owned it anyways, so any cost savings for a contract is welcome to me. I hope they have a better data plan than just 1gb though.

Kind of funny that there's really only maybe an 8 month window out of the year when you should by the current iProduct...

When you have to have a 'Best Stories of Today' now that the new layout sucks, you probably shouldn't have gone to the new layout...

Damn, I can't find Midas Touch anywhere :(

Sounds like.... evolution.
