Maybe because most of these models are 15 year old and identical to each other? Actors (not this girl who isn't one), the good ones, can have a range of emotion, a face you actually want to look at. I don't get the benefit of models other than the beanstalk body.

My dad did something similar, although not nearly as horrific or extensive in scope. I don't talk to him today, but it tears my apart with guilt. It's so easy for me to see that you are not the one who should be suffering. Please don't feel you killed your dad. He made his own choices.

I see where you're coming from, but I disagree that it would come as a surprise to many/most people living in the "developed world" for lack of better words, that 100 years US/Europe was really backward. As a dark-skinned Jewish woman, I'm very well aware that even 50 years ago I would have faced significant

Agreed...

That might have to do with the fact that Kim Kardashian, with her Armenian heritage, looks very Middle Eastern/from the Caucasus like a lot of Israelis, Ashkenazi or Sefardic, AND Gal Gadot is Israeli...

I would! I'm far more likely to be inspired to shop for a style by my friends than by ads.

I'm wading into deep territory here, but I think fashion is not, by definition, art. I'm sure some fashion designers do work that is great art, but for the most part it is about vanity and marketing and yes, frivolity.

Are you kidding me? It completely turns romance stereotypes on their head. It's pretty much the only romance I can read without feeling that I am drowning in a honey trap. Chase and Eloisa James are the only historical romance (since that's all I read) authors who have a truly distinctive voice, and who manage the
