Bullshit. Obviously there's lots of streams of Islam, and vast majority of them are not like this, but to deny the religious element of it is to refuse to face the problem heads on. Read up about Salafi Islam and how Saudi Arabia has been actively promoting it in areas of the world which for hundreds of years knew

Pretty comprehensive but I missed where ISIS was against blonde haired/blue-eyed people - I thought they had plenty of European converts? Plus, a fair amount of Lebantine folks are blue eyed, and occasionally even blond.

Of course Buddhism is responsible.... are you kidding me? What's happening in Burma is ethnic cleansing on a religious basis.

Some of this rage, you know, might have to do with the fact that there was at least one Islamic empire consistently since the 700 CE up until 100 years ago. Very little - or none - of what ISIS is saying harks back to Sykes Pico. It harks back to the age of muslim empires - some of which, at various periods, were

Really? I found it grand, but not at all beautiful, especially after hiking and driving through the beautiful Darbyshire. Artificial and a let down. I saw loads of more beautiful great houses, including the house used for the 1995 TV series.

Some of us think so...

You're really vile, aren't you.

Oh no Lindy, but you're my favorite!

Apparently you don't know, or refuse to understand my point. It's insane to me that my comment is somehow triggering so much rage. I think fighting lack of empathy to individuals' experiences with lack of empathy to other individuals' experiences is wrong.

That's not what FlowerbeeBryant said. S/he said that they think they can dow whatever they want to anyone else. That's very different than saying that they enjoy privilege.

Classy.

I don't disagree with your historic analysis but claiming that all GROUP X feel the certain way about something is bigoted behavior, and lacks empathy and recognition of individuality.

Not the same thing at all. #notallmen was a jerk move because it took attention away from the key issue. Flowbee is being a jerk because s/he is painting an entire group with the same brush.

Yup, still arguing that people are people first, and that accusing a whole class of people, even privileged people, of having exactly the same biases and being jerks the same way is a form of bigotry. Sorry.

Sorry, but I don't believe in fighting bigotry with bigotry.

Lots of people, even commentators on Jezebel, looked at these photos, so clearly not everyone agreed their privacy was violated.

I don't think it's all men who have these views, and I don't think it's only white men who think this way about women. From experience.

Oh bull. I follow middle east news on Twitter, and manage to avoid all gory photos nonetheless by scrolling down fast or not opening the photo. So you want me to believe you accidentally saw them and quickly closed the brower, yet managed to verify that they were legit? Face it, you're the consumer for those

I disagree. They should not be punished at the same extent, but I see only good coming from going after people who knowingly violate other people's privacy. I know people who got a warning from their internet provider when they downloaded stolen movies. Something similar could work here. Specifically regarding Isha

Regardless of motivation it's crap behavior as in violation of another person's privacy. Good for Ruggerbabe19 to have the honesty to admit it.
