The listing says PP of Los Angeles, not Louisiana. City/state abbreviation mixup, perhaps?

Source, please, that half of all rape accusations are false.
But women get discounts at bars sometimes! D:
But, you know, just like an MRA, pisa came here and managed to derail a thread to talk about his pet issue, "false rape convictions" —- NOT even remotely an issue on par with, you know, actual rape and the lack of prosecution and rampant victim-shaming/blaming....but hey, HE needed the conversation to turn to him, he…
Wow, I really didn't expect that. I'll be honest, what I wrote above is just my boilerplate answer to the infuriatingly common "I'm not a FEMINIST, I'm a HUMANIST because I'm a HUMAN who cares about HUMANS not a WOMAN who only cares about WOMEN!" Seriously, I even use pretty much the same examples every time, it's…
Bullshit.
I have more womanist and feminist leanings than most philosophies. But one of the boundaries for me self labeling as either (beyond my dislike of labels) is not wanting to be attached to such a gendered descriptor, especially one that is not of my gender. Does this make any sense? I guess I'm saying I like the ideas…
yep, nevermind her apartment building's camera showing that he followed her inside or her neighbours hearing her scream for help or the defensive wounds she has. if he used a condom, no dna = can't convict.
But oh no! If boys see that they can stay home and raise kids their children will think that's normal and men and women will get the idea that gender roles are crap. And women might get uppity and want to be the primary breadwinner.
People might be happy. What would happen? Dogs and cats, living together!
Matchar writes " they have identified a number of issues—consent, victim-blaming, and legal standards of proof—that have too often been presented in black and white terms, when the reality is much more complicated" but ignores the fact that MRAs PRESENT THESE VERY ISSUES IN BLACK AND WHITE TERMS. It's not that MRAs…
Every time I read something written by an MRA, I realize my eyebrows have disappeared into my hairline.
I threw up my hands when the acts of statistical sabotage, internet terrorizing and attempts to redefine rape were referred to as "hijinks." Hijinks are when you throw an impromptu snowball fight, or hide rubber snakes in the teacher's lounge, or swap out the salt for sugar at the cafeteria.
That Kate Harding reply was fantastic. I'll refrain from trying to add anything to it, except, "YES, THAT!"
I've never once seen an MRA not blame "man hating feminists" or the "feminist court system" (?!) for these problems, though. That's not reasonable, that's insanity, and that's where they lose any credibility.
There are legit issues. I would argue that feminism has done way more for men. For example, fighting for equal pay and equal opportunity, and encouraging woman and girls to enter high-paying fields, has the effect of easing financial pressure on men. The societal pressure for men to be "big earners" is a burden.
Who else is bracing themselves for the comments pointing out that "feminists are just as bad because there are mean man-hating feminists out there!"? Can't wait.
Thanks again Lindy for a well written piece. I have consistently enjoyed your work on Jezebel, and always look forward to these long-style pieces.
There's a difference between recognizing and defending one's rights as a man and holding back women from having the same rights. Most "men's rights advocates" or, at least, how they're shown here, are actually "anti women's rights".
I do believe that there is room in the discussion for rights that apply to men and…
The problem is that, if we ignore them, they actually get stronger without oversight.
