I’ve been thinking about this exact thing lately. I think a lot of cautious women get berated by men who feel like it’s not faiiirrrr women are so careful, because “not all men are rapists!” and “you’re stereotyping men!” But when I’m not cautious, when I drink too much with guy friends, when I crash on a guy’s

I like it when Jezebel does things like this! More 'let's get organized and do something' and less 'click on this because it makes you angry AARRRGGGH!!' Thank you; awesome post!

And it's feminists that get accused of saying all men are rapists. How come when they do it's a warning that we should heed but if we even hint that most rapists are men (not the same statement at all) we get accused of hating all men?

Can we please start asking men like this what I think is an obvious question here? If you as a man feel that men can't help but force sex on women, aren't you basically just admitting that YOU can't help but force sex on women, or at least think about it? Because I honestly can't think of another explanation for guys

This whole men-can't-help-themselves mentality is not only dangerous to women but ridiculously offensive to men! To think that we're not evolving out of the men-only-think-with-the-wrong-head sitcom bullshit is really depressing, especially considering these are the same idiots that think women are overstepping their

I am *shocked* that a self-professed egalitarian male has dominated this conversation with complaints about his sad penisfeels. *shocked*

Correct apology.

Well, the problem is, this article defines a group of people by their actions, so the issue really isn't the article. If it doesn't apply to you, it doesn't apply to you.

What the point seems to be is pointing out that marriage has problems and they're pointing out the problems. Men historically do much less housework than women do. It's a fact.

You're not a jerk, you're a statistical anomaly.

Bridget Jones' Diary had a tidy name for you folks: Smug Marrieds. You've got it all figured out, because you're married.

Except, once again, this is a social trend that has been documented. It's great you are the way you are, but the fact is, there's been polls where little girls say they want husbands to do their share, and little boys say they want traditional wives. Arlue Hochschild's been writing about this for years.

Well, you do realize that this kind of housework deficit has been studied and verified, right? It's actual reality, so I really don't get what the problem is. It's real. It's been a fact for a while. It's the subject of considerable study.

You sound like you're on the right track, and I definitely get your point that the article seems to be ignoring men like you.

Jesus TittyFucking Christ. I have no patience for trolls who don't even bother reading the damn article. NO, they are not automatically relaxing the physical standards required for membership. They will review and POSSIBLY change SOME standards. Those standards, if they change, will change for everyone. I

My dad liked doing auto body for a similar reason. He did all of my neighbor's mom's body work for cost rather than take her insurance money when the quoted price was higher than the total cost of parts.

I have a good one, too. He's honest to a fault. He's also affordable. He takes care of everyone's car at my office now, too. We all found out the guy is a complete bad-ass. Word of mouth, yo!

I don't think that's a good comparison. Even if you're "steered" to the most expensive stuff in a store, you can still see what it costs on the price tag. That's different from most auto repair, where someone is deciding what a service costs and quoting you the price.

your mechanic is the best mechanic.

Unconscious bias! Internalized sexism! They're real, folks!
