This is an amazing comment, but I also love that you used “its” correctly twice in the last sentence. People get that wrong more often than they get it right, and it hurts my copy editor soul!

Even beyond the fact that alcohol doesn’t cause rape, I tend to doubt men who rape and sexually assault are going to care much about obeying the law when it comes to alcohol.

A whole lot of vegetarians and vegans like — and miss — meat. It’s convenient that victim testimony magically stops counting as evidence whenever rape or sexual assault is involved. If a victim identifies the person who mugged them, that’s evidence. But if a victim identifies the person who sexually assaulted them, it’s a grossly unfair character smear that means nothing.
