People who aren’t gray reply to them, not realizing they’re trolls (or in some cases realizing they’re trolls but replying to them anyway), which promotes their comments.

FYI, 2018 Blue Tsunami Warning is a well-established troll.

They like the ones who are white and rich! Assuming those people also hate everyone who isn’t white and rich, of course.

This is how I feel about mayonnaise, too. I understand not liking it, but I don’t get why so many people feel the need to brag about not liking it. Honest to god, your condiment preferences don’t make you cool.

Living in Southern California, I’ve never had to deal with brokerage fees, but since I moved to Orange County, pet rent — generally $50-$75 per month per animal — is ubiquitous.

I once asked a server about the difference between two varieties of French toast. He said, pointing to the menu options, “This one is awesome and delicious and this one is disgusting and no one would ever want to put it in their mouth.”

I’ve actually read that people with high opinions of their own intelligence and independence are often weirdly more vulnerable to these kinds of things (cults, pyramids schemes, etc.). They’re so certain that it’s impossible for them to get involved in anything shady that they will defend whatever they get involved in

How very Donald Trump of him.

I’ve done a small amount of jam, too, when I don’t have fruit to add.

People who choose airlines that allow pets, follow the airline’s rules and pay for the privilege of flying with their pet aren’t exploiting anything. Disabilities don’t come into it at all.

I’m 100% with you that it’s grossly entitled to bring dogs to places where they’re prohibited (with the exception of true service dogs, obviously), and that a lot of dog owners are the worst. But I’ve also been screamed at more than once for having my dog in places that prominently advertise their dog-friendliness.

Also a really weird thing to take pleasure in. I understand that it needs to be done, but treating it as a hugely enjoyable spectator sport is ... well. Demented covers it pretty well.

They’re adorable, but they’re strong and stubborn and they can be a nightmare if they’re not well-trained. One of my dogs was severely injured by a corgi at the local dog park, and when I contacted animal control and started talking to other owners, I found out that almost every reported injury attack at the small dog

So many hugs. I don’t know how I’ll bear it when I lose my pups.

There’s a woman who comes to the local dog park who has like 7 dogs, most of them seniors, because she works in hospice care and many of her patients have nowhere for their pets to go. It’s simultaneously inspiring and heart-breaking.

I can’t think of Scooter Libby without thinking of bear rape.

ETA: I see a lot of people has covered this already, so I’ll just quote an authority on the subject. From the Digital Media Law Project:

My brother has celiac, and that’s been his experience. He was diagnosed in the early 80s, back when “gluten-free” meant cardboard-like rice bread ordered through the mail, and when the gluten craze first started he was very excited about all the options. But he quickly learned that a lot of things are mislabeled

I think the “partisan bickering over blaming people” is my favorite bit.

“Some of these gaps can be explained by the Times’ lopsided demographics,” the Guild wrote. “The more senior journalists in our bargaining unit, who make the most money, are more likely to be white and male. The younger journalists in our bargaining unit, who make the least money, are more likely to be women and
