Where is this data? Can you show me? Everytime I ask this question, people have nothing to show. I'll be convinced that this issue is overblown by sensationalist journalists and a small minority of fans in the meantime. 

Guarantee that 90% of these issues are from people who don’t know how to take care of things. If my 4 yr old and 10 yr old haven’t had an issue with their launch Joycon, on a system that’s played nearly every day in some fashion, and mine hasn’t either nor has my wife’s neon green/pink Joycon, then this issue is

Man, you’re so smart, of course not one person out of all the people experiencing this issue have tried to fix it with simple remedies. Or have tried cleaning it after taking it apart.  They’ve all just sat around and complained without researching the problem.

So like many Nintendo problems before it can be solved by blowing on it?

The controllers are fine. There’s some dust or dirt that got inside them. Take a can of compressed air, Deoxit, or even just a bit of rubbing alcohol and spray/pour it in the stick and swirl it around a bit. Good as new. You’re welcome.
