Have only seen this on abused 64 controllers. Been using the same exact gamepad since the release of the system. Absolutely no issues. I have 4 original 64 gamepads, no issues all close to release time with continued heavy use. Take better care of your electronics and they take care of you.

Repeat repairs coming from the same sources also would indicate misuse of the controller or at best heavy use. Not a flaw in design, that's a flaw in human use.

Oh you mean like the Nintendo that released the NES/Famicom, and SNES/Super Famicom? Those one Nintendo systems where half the time you need to blow on the cartridge and in game slot to create an electrical contact enough for the game to be read? Or that other issue where you’d need to wiggle or jam your cartridge in

Couldn't agree with you more. The times I've heard users complaining of issues like this I'm magically not affected. I have a tendency to take caution and care of my valuable electronics and keep them pristine from purchase until I sell or place in securely in storage to prevent any damage while stored. Not that hard,
