“I believe I can touch this guy.”

“I liked it.” - me (guy who ever only watched the first episode of the anime)

Leaving aside the shítstorm this will cause among the chattering classes on YouTube... He’s right. And that’s speaking as a fan of the MCU.

I keep coming here because I’m old and out of touch, and it’s the only way I get news of things in the entertainment world. So I’ll probably be here until the site inevitably dies. But I’m not happy about it.

Tom, you are the man. Six decades worth of cinema and you made each article such a captivating read. I can’t wait to see what series you come up with next for A.V. Club- will definitely be in it for the long run.

I’ve never seen so many dead hookers in all my life!

Sounds a lot like the 2013 Halle Berry vehicle, “The Call”. Even has a similar poster of a silhoutted face covered with words.

“Is it still the greatest movie on Earth?”
“It never was.”

There’s that scene on Titan before the big fight with Thanos where Strange uses his powers to go through every version of the upcoming fight, and it turns out there’s something like 10,000,000 of them and the good guys only win one of them.

Oh, it’s closer to 1,000 words than 500.

I’ll watch pretty much anything for Rosa Salazar.

She’s pretty much the only character in the DCEU that seems to have achieved some level of believable character growth too.

I absolutely agree with everything you said - especially with regards to Daniela Melchior’s performance. I was expecting Ratcatcher 2 to be a very snarky, hard-bitten character and was happily surprised by how non-douchey she was. Which easily could’ve fallen into cliche if played as a naif - which Melchior did *not*

Then he ate them. How do you think he put on all that weight for Raging Bull? That’s commitment to the craft.

Finally someone understands how to use Harley Quinn in a movie properly.

Oh, great. Now there’s two Hollywood Mary Elizabeth’s I gotta keep track of now.

I wish MEW would kick my ass...

Romancing the Stone is so perfectly ‘80s, and yet it holds up so much better than so many other adventure romances filmed later. It strikes the right balance of breezy fun and thrills without getting too sappy (ironic, considering the protagonist).

Damn it! The Doobie Brothers broke up. Shit. When did that happen?”
