God, I loved the ‘Hot Shots!’ movies growing up. I still giggle like an idiot at the line, “These men are completely celibate, like their fathers, and their fathers before them.”

Nobody will ever top this scene. Ever.

My partner jokes that I am like, the only person who watches MTV Classic, which in fact plays nothing but videos in hour-long blocks. It’s good background noise and/or fun for the “oh yeah, I remember that video!” moments.

The person I feel bad about in all of this is Cavill who seemed genuinely excited to be coming back to the role, only to have everything completely dashed a few weeks later.

I don’t think it’s weird. Madmartigan was just about as essential a part of the charm of the original film as Warwick Davis. His absence is an unfortunate and unavoidable great big gaping hole in this revival, and making a mystery of his fate is a good way to pay homage to the character’s importance.

It’d be funny of Netflix came in a hoovered up all of the dumped content and ate Discovery’s lunch. 

It’s amazing to me how the best adaptions of the games remain W. S. Anderson films simply because he at least had schlock that didn’t take itself seriously in the slightest.
