Sapochnik was incredibly overrated as a director. His episodes were generally badly paced and badly lit, and I never got a great sense of geography from him. I think people remember a few big epic shots from those episodes but otherwise I found him very uninteresting. Not sure why he became the dude for GoT.

Well that’s on brand

That guy in the comments of the cancellation post saying only “college girls” liked Miseducation...I just wanna talk

This is going to come off very harsh, but it’s not a big loss.

Wrong Fugee

A Malaysian friend of mine told me about the 1MDB story as it was starting to break there, and I’ve been following it for years. The whole thing is just brazenly insane.

Genisys’ problem was that the entire crux of the film’s plot relies on a single line said in the third minute of the film that everyone immediately forgets.

My general problem with Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, Bill Maher, etc. is that they have just become...delusional and pathetic and instead of retiring with dignity they became what they became.

Looking forward to “The Holy Ghost” as the trilogy capper.

Matt Smith looks like a guy wearing a Matt Smith mask.

I feel like they were testing the waters with not having the theme in the first episode, worried about tying it back in with GoT too much, and then once they saw the show was being positively received decided “screw it let’s bust out the theme”.

Emily Carey isn’t 28, she’s 19...

It’s still more of the same old GoT misogyny

Also agree that Alicent doesn’t seem to be a schemer. She does seem intelligent enough to realize the really tricky situation that she has been placed in by her father, and she knows she’s hurting her friend, but she doesn’t have much choice in the matter. If anything she’s done a nice job of handling the situation

Yeah, I thought that was a weird read—both that Alicent is a schemer & that she & Viserys are already sexually intimate. If anything, it feels like the show is taking pains NOT to suggest those things.

Im sure the book purists will be respectful..........

Their complaint isn’t that it’s bad because lacks nudity, their saying it’s bad as a dating sim.

So do Kotaku writers have their own “beats” they work? I imagine every morning a tired editor asking Ashley what new on the “horny” beat.

to me it’s just such a cynical attempt at corporatizing fanfiction, but also doing so in the cheapest way possible. I almost feel bad for the devs, because I can’t imagine this end product is what they wanted.

oh boy another dating game subverting the genre forever by declaring that dating games are stupid
