Neutral: How Best To Sell Semi-Autonomous Safety?
A lot of people on here seem to vote about how they feel about the car in question rather than the actual market value and sales presentation of the cars (e.g. “it’s hideous, CP”). I find that rather odd. Whether or not I want any given car has nothing to do with the relative worth of the asking price.
So here’s the thing, if you want an 8 series with a V-12, and a stick shift this is at the low end of the going rate. Given the known issues (stupid wheels, and dodgy aftermarket electrical BS) and that the original wheels are included I’d say this is a fair asking price. For that reason I did, in fact, vote NP.
This from a man that drives an Aston Martin Something-or-other that was clearly built at some point in the last 15 years or so.
Buicks remind me of my grandfather, as they were the only thing he would drive. He had horrible taste in cars.
There’s a fine line between brilliant and bullshit.
In addition to 12 year old idiots stealing buses we have a wicked decent cah scene up here.
This! So much This. Build it and I will buy.
This is so refreshing. I am a huge fan of slow car fast, which is why I bought an Abarth. It is a never ending source of joy. It may not be particularly fast or powerful, but anyone not having fun driving it simply has no pulse.
Generally, Torch, I respect your taste in cars, and I also have predilection for posteriors of Sir Mix-a-Lot proportions. However, I cannot honestly say that the Panamera is a good looking car. I think your analysis of the front end is spot-on, but aft of the B-pillar things go horribly awry. It looks like Porsche…
My gut reaction before reading your post was Honda Accord, but I had it pegged as an older one—late 90's early 00's. But that windshield rake is very much contemporary Civic.
The reason he slams on his brakes (imo) is that if the car hits the cruiser the cop can tack on an assaulting an officer charge.
The crumple zone crumpled. Nothing to see here; move along.
“Worth it” if that’s your thing. Personally I would not pay a nickle for the Biscayne—not because there’s anything particularly wrong with it, it’s just not my thing. But I can look it over, perhaps do a little research and make an objective assessment of NP or CP (16.5k is a couple grand over market value, btw). In…
I did something like this (as a passenger) in a 1st gen. Pajero in Mongolia. It was equal parts awesome and terrifying.
Rain sensing wipers working underwater FTW.
Wow, that’s some serious mustache.
This is the NP or CP where we learn what percentage your readers cross read Tavarish.
There are plenty of communities where the primary mode of transport is golf cart. If I lived on one of those I’d consider this a decent price, hence NP. But if, and only if you live someplace made for it—otherwise it looks like a lousy golf cart.
You had me at brown speed stripe.
