The white paint and blue stripes will be paired with blue exterior badges and a dashboard badge inside, and GT350R heritage models will have black seats with red accent stitching.

The reality is that car manufacturers are no longer prioritizing design for tastes in North America or Europe, but the ones in China. And the market there prefers this more ostentatious LOOK AT ME styling. If you want tasteful, teutonic design in your next BMW...better buy vintage.

It’s not, though. It would be the ugliest car in Kia’s lineup by a fair margin.

I wonder what would happen if I hooked up a Hellcat engine to my wife’s Peloton. She’d win the shit out of her online spin classes, that’s what. Best husband or bestest husband? Yes.

Really surprising that a Cruze has those options. Heated front seats, sure - but steering wheel and rear seats? Never would’ve imagined!

The difference now is that, instead of gauges, many cars come with digital displays which require backlights just to be seen, even in the day.

It’s funny but I remember the opposite. I learned to drive on a ‘95 Ford Windstar (yeah, I know...) and it’s gauge cluster lights were crazy bright when the lights were off (I assume so they would be easily visible in bright daylight, I don’t really know...) When you turned the lights on it was always dimmer, and you

I think the biggest part of the always on dash is the inclusion of screens. If just a screen part of it is lit, and not the gauges, it might not look good. They did add an icon that lets you know when lights are on, but I think it should chime like seatbelts aren’t connected if it’s dark and your lights aren’t on.

Can the IIHS tackle DRL LEDs that are so bright the driver thinks their headlights are on even when they’re not? I run into this all the time now, because dashboards are always lit, even with the headlights off, and DRLs are so bright the owners think their lights are on. I’ve been stuck behind someone without their

I actually feel the opposite. I have no issue driving with traditional headlights, the only issues I encounter are being blinded by other cars on the road with aircraft spotlights, and the incredible amount of glare that all of the LCD displays inside of modern cars produce.

Pretty sure those comments predate the implementation of Kinja. A lot of old replies lack stars, and only get them when people revisit old articles.

Even five years ago I would never have considered buying a car from the Korean brands.

Yeah, my friend George Glass from Canada borrowed it.

Couldn’t Porsche just install a larger turbo to increase the range?

Pretty sure you meant GMT400, predecessor to the 800, and especially the 2D Tahoe variant!

Minivans drive alot better than crossovers for the most part. I’d buy a van 100 times before I bought a crossover and I don’t have kids.

Look, Toyota (and a few others) have had this system down for decades now. Make a good cheap car so that when the customer makes a little more money they’ll come back to you to buy a more expensive car, and so on up the ladder they climb. The Corolla is the gateway drug, they know one day you’ll want a Lexus. The
