I take my Land Cruiser off-road. I’m not cross-shopping a Tesla as they don’t make one that is off-road capable. I wouldn’t take an Escalade off-road. Range Rovers are pretty inside and out, but stupidly expensive and horrifically unreliable. When I’m crossing over a 13,000 ft pass in Colorado, miles off-road, I

My son now drives the Land Cruiser I got second hand, off of a five year lease, seventeen years ago. Best vehicle ever

The Land Cruiser appeals to a very small group of very wealthy “old money” types who want to show that they are old money types, but only to other old money types. It occupies the space that the Grand Wagoneer did in the 80's. Most people look at it and go “that’s a funny looking Highlander” but a small group of

Your first sentence is incorrect. Your second sentence is correct. Land Cruisers are in a different category than others from a ruggedness and durability aspect.

You’re really trying to make “CSW” a thing. It’s not going anywhere.

That’s kind of the same deal with Tacomas. Why buy a 3 year old one when the new ones aren’t that much more expensive and you can get a better interest rate vs. used.

I loved driving it—the handling, the speed, the acceleration. I loved that when you stepped on the gas, you knew it.

The answer, as always, is GTI...or in this case, Golf R. Here’s one in Springfield, about 10 miles away, for 35k.

I too will be going with a conservative palette - orange with blue interior. And the giant wing option. :)

I love 4 Runners. I have a stupid long commute and I can’t handle the fuel economy. I’m stuck in Camryland for the near future until I can afford a third vehicle for fun.

I live in Belgium, I have no problem “justifying” the purchase of non-American products. My US passport does not obligate me to pursue some quixotic mission to only contribute to the US economy.

“How can you be a Conservative from the seat of your Honda?”

Totally agree. I’d then push in parallel for alternative solutions than driving (committing, errands, etc.). I love driving (save the manuals!), but no one likes sitting in traffic. If there aren’t alternatives, then it’s no wonder we all end up in our cars.

Everyone points to the Big Dig in Boston as an example of how government can waste an incredible amount of time and money removing or realigning a highway.

This shit looks boring AF, a Joanna Gaines job. And holy fuck I’m so tired of the grey and white farmhouse chic kitchens. Gimme something different, like this:

Yeah, feel ya. That’s a lotto win for us, plus the E’s a bit big for us.  We’re lucky we have access to the C63S estate in our market (Australia).

Or an E39 M5. E39 interior is much higher quality than the new 3 Series. Also, it has a manual

Joule thief!

They could call it the Subeerban.
