Because female German Shepherds are smaller than male GSDs. So if someone has a male GSD they may not have the same ease of fitting their dog into the same car.

Right? The feeling of pressing a well-engineered button, not even counting the fact that you can do it by feel (something you can’t do on a screen) cannot be disregarded. Part of why I love my E39 so much is that all the buttons, stalks, and doors sound and feel heavy and well-engineered. Part of what I don’t like

Yep, and it looks ‘pretty’ in pictures but in reality will be a magnet for dust and fingerprints. I long for the days when automakers (especially Mercedes-Benz) used the most noble and appropriate materials for their interiors because they were functional and long lasting.

You, me, and Jalopnik writer Bradley Brownell. We’re part of an elite group.

We have a Buick Regal TourX wagon for the two of us and our female German Shepherd. We have a seat cover for the back seat that covers the seating material, door panels, and seat backs of the front seats so all surfaces are protected. We don’t put her in the cargo area because then she can’t stick her head out the

The current generation, I feel, has become rather iconic. In a sea of overstyled, swoopy, droopy or overly aggressive looking crossovers, the Grand Cherokee has a solidly handsome and understated design. And even though it’s unibody, it still comes off more as an old school SUV. My dad and brother each have one of

This is who I aspire to be. In reality I am too tempted by relatively low mileage German cars from the 90s that despite being in great condition need constant maintenance.

I have to say, the Deep Deep Dish from Little Caesars is actually really good. Definitely worth a try

OMG YES... this has bugged me for YEARS. Did the same thing with the E39 5 series - the brake lights themselves were incandescent but the taillights at night were cool LED light tubes. Then the E60 came around and, what do you know, back to incandescent only. Then the LCI in 2008 once again had taillight LED tubes at

I remember vividly the first time I saw the rear amber LED turn signals on an LCI (refresh) E46 3 series coupe/convertible. The chunk of yellow light flashing on and off immediately without any ‘rise’ time looked so cool, and still looks cool to me to this day.

Oh god, we were recently house hunting and it was incredibly difficult to find a house that hadn’t been renovated or flipped with a cold white/hospital grey them. IT LOOKS TERRIBLE. It literally feels like the inside of a hospital or government building. We finally found a house from the original owners that had not

There also seems to be this view that bringing manufacturing ‘back’ to these areas would be like some sort of decades-old method of manufacturing with tens of thousands of employees doing every part of the process. With automation and robots it’s just not really a thing anymore, although of course a smaller number of

I like cars that are 15-25 years old, so whenever I buy one if the spare tire is the original (it always is) I have it replaced with a new tire. The last thing you want if you have to use the spare in the first place is for it to have an issue after you mount it.

I agree. There is something about these B-body wagons with their rounded styling and wide ass rear ends that just sticks out compared to anything else. I think even moreso than all the bloated cars from the 70s that are above in this comment thread.

Now playing

Thank you for posting this. It made me search youtube and I now I found this and my life is complete:

I love Mario Kart for SNES. It’s a true test of skill and patience.

I see you’ve gone for the Heritage Edition at that. Good choice!

My vote is for the E34 M5 touring mmmm

Yesss also prefer the previous gen (like this pic) versus the current gen.  The current one is too overstyled, the rear is too steeply raked, and the wheels are comically large. Of course this new version is the one we finally get in the US...

How is the ride quality? I remember a couple reviews saying that the ride was pretty firm and I like it quite smooth. The look of the V60 to me is so gorgeous that I would love to own one someday.
