Isn’t there a third reason for the first question? The dealer is BSing to get more money out of the customer?

Mind sharing which two you bought? Hearing about their older products makes me happy.

I am ‘sorta’ surprised by this - but there’s a second reason that isn’t being addressed. True that the popularity of their crossovers (ahem, SAVs lol) means less people wanting to come to Europe for the cars made over there.

Seriously, it’s like - I read this site anyway I would just do it as a courtesy.

Lol it wasn’t a scam, it worked out for both parties. While it was technically sold via someone I know through a car enthusiast group, the car was actually for his boss who he is close with and is a woman probably in her mid-60s. She was happy and is well to do and has the money to take care of a 12+ year old BMW so

Welcome Rory! This site is my life - I hope this is the start of consistent leadership again.

I get it - my grandmother gave up driving last year at 95. Well, ‘gave up’ probably isn’t the right term - she wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t put my foot down, not that she really ‘fought’ me but I used a minor incident she caused to have ‘the conversation’.

If you want that hate to increase, look no further than his first wife’s account of their relationship and his antics.

Definitely - back when products were made to last. We have a Shark vacuum that gets so much stuff out of carpet but the plastic is so incredibly cheap I doubt it’ll last 5 more years. I really hate the throwaway culture we have.

Yes, definitely will keep this for life. I mean, this was the ONLY vacuum she ever used so I used to use it at her house when I was little (I’ve always liked vacuuming for some reason).

Omg I am personally attacked (although I don’t ‘collect’ 50s vaccums, I just have one). My grandmother gave me her Kirby vacuum she bought new in 1956 when she moved to a retirement community a couple years ago. It’s beautiful and fully functional.

What was the course/club called?

You win, especially given the whole situation and not just that the interior itself was wild.  It came from Mercedes-Benz during their teutonic heyday and from one of their traditional models (i.e. not the A Class).

I think what they do now is design a car, do a wax model of it (instead of clay) then put it under heat for an hour and after all the lines melt and droop they lock in the design.

I was hoping it was going to be something fun like “Rückfahrscheinwerfer” (reverse lights) but it’s actually just aerodynamik. Boo.

I’ve always thought the XJ was handsome but wasn’t sure aesthetically which one I would want. After seeing this one, I know it’s the Wagoneer Limited. This thing is gorgeous

No worries, you didn’t miss it. The rules aren’t really listed at all - David mentions them at the beginning when everyone is on Zoom. That’s funny about your Jeopardy ban - I’m not exceptional at Jeopardy by any means but usually know a decent amount. And you’re right - Jeopardy trivia are things you would probably

Sounds about right. I tell my husband stories about growing up here (he is from New Jersey) and going to school in the late spring and early fall.  It was nearly impossible to decide what to wear because you would be freezing in the morning and you’d want pants and a jacket and by the time school got out you’d be

I did it the first two weeks and our team definitely didn’t Google anything (we were the #1 team for week two). It’s against the rules and there’s little incentive to Google things since there isn’t an actual prize. Even if you do ‘cheat’ and then get the top score, it’s not like you feel like you actually

As a lifelong NorCal-er myself, convertibles are definitely way more of a SoCal thing (but even then I don’t think it’s as common as people from out of state think it is. Most of the ones you see are definitely rentals).
